WSC Leading the web to its full potential Standards Participate Membership About W3C W3C Participate Mail, News, Blogs, Podcasts and W3C News WBCISMPTE WORKSHOP REPORT: PROFESSIONAL MEDIA PRODUCTION ON THE WEB 14 March 2022 W3C is pleased to announce a report from the W3CISMPTE Workshop on Professional Media Production 0n the Web, held online in October/November 2021 This report contains a brief summary: collects highlights from the live sessions links to the presentation vidleos; and dletails next steps_ The workshop connected the weh platform and the professional meclia production communities and explored evolurions of the web platform to address professional meclia production requirements_ workshop talks were publishedl in October 2021 ahout 40 issues were dliscussed online_ and 3 live sessions were held mid-November 2021 that convened more than 75 experts to exchange on specific medlia procluction needs for the weh platform: The main outcomes are that: The web platform already provides building blocks to enable core media production scenarios, These building blocks are not powerful enough to create full-fledged experiences 0n client dlevices. Most of the gaps raised during the workshop touch on API features in specifications that are already being developed. There however benefit to coorclinating effort to make sure that media production needs are correctly capturedl and acldressed in ongoing standardization activities Workshop discussions call for a more in-dlepth analysis of some of the topics and workshop participants propose the creation of Media Production Task Force that the Media & Entertainment Interest Group could Ft Uetn S_l= Ut=e
